What's Harvard
Harvard University is a private Ivy League research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts
with about 6,800 undergraduate students and about 14,000 postgraduate students.
Established in 1636 and named for its first benefactor, clergyman John Harvard, Harvard is
the United States' oldest institution of higher learning. Its history, influence, wealth, and
academic reputation have made it one of the most prestigious universities in the world.
"Harvard’s motto is Veritas — truth. They believe that it’s truth that they look for in their
students.

located in the state of massachusetts , in the city of Cambridge.
Harvard is governed by a combination of its Board of Overseers and the President and Fellows of
Harvard College (also known as the Harvard Corporation), which in turn appoints the President of
Harvard University . There are 16,000 staff and faculty, including 2,400 professors, lecturers, and
instructors. has around 22,000 students across the College, graduate, and professional schools located
in Cambridge and Boston. When people refer to Harvard students, often they mean the subset of
roughly 6,700 students who attend Harvard College.

Campus traditions
When you arrive on campus, you'll discover Harvard College’s many unique traditions. Some
are as old as the College and others are much more recent—but they all play an important
role in the life of Harvard College students. Through experiences such as Housing Day,
YardFest, and the First-Year Formal, students are immersed in the rich history of the College
and experience how it informs campus life today.
Since 1875, the Harvard Crimson and the Yale Bulldogs have faced off in an event simply
known as "The Game." It's more than just a football game—this is a rivalry that stays with
Harvard students throughout their lives.
During the First-Year Day of Service, students learn about the important role service plays in
the Harvard experience.
Each Harvard house enjoys its own unique traditions. And while these activities are steeped in
history, new traditions are regularly introduced and adopted. From the annual celebration of
International Polar Bear Day at Pforzheimer House (in which, among other things, they
"adopt" a real polar bear in the wild)n the Harvard experience.
Housing day: The week before Spring Break, first-years learn their assignments for housing for
following years. One of the most notable traditions at Harvard, Housing Day is sure to be a
highlight of your first-year experience.

Conclusion
In the end I just want to say that I chose this campus because it always amazed me by the
movies and series I saw about it and it always amazes me by ita multi cultural students
and its educational system.
