famous dune… The Bassin d’Arcachon

On the ocean side, the sea waves
can crack sometimes whilst nothing
in the inner Bassin gives a hint of the
nearby Atlantic roar… An enchanting
environment with ten towns and
villages, their richness waiting to be
shared with you.

THE BASSIN IN THE RHYTHM

Pleasures do not start in
June to end in September!
Throughout the year, visitors
are welcome in any of the
ten towns and villages of
the Bassin and can enjoy
long walks in the forest,
bird watching, sporting
activities, oyster sampling.
Oyster-farmers, fi shermen,
shopkeepers, associations
govern the rhythm of the Bassin
d’Arcachon and liven it up.
OCEAN, LAKE AND
BAY BEACHES
Are you rather an ocean
enthusiast when it comes to
swimming? Or do you prefer
lakes, or bays? Now here is
your luck: the region offers
beaches of all sorts, adapted
to every taste. And nothing
prevents you from enjoying
each kind in turn. Thanks to
the short distance between
the bay, lake and ocean,
swimming is possible (almost)
throughout the day.
