ABSTRACT: Assessment of the management of high blood pressure in
ambulatory care in Berkane Morocco.
High blood pressure (HBP) is a health problem in the world by its morbidity,
mortality and the costs of care. In Morocco, the Ministry of Health has introduced
several measures to improve the management level care facilities, in basic health
centers .
The objective of the study is to assess the quality of the process of management
of hypertension in outpatient.
Method: case study, quantitative and qualitative mixed approach with several
levels of analysis: patients, providers and managers; made in the province of
Berkane , and based on quality indicators.
Results: The accessibility and availability of medical- technical equipments :
blood pressure monitors are available , but the drugs experiencing shortages and
unequal access , continuing education is not suited to the needs of patients , for
patients with RAMED card, analysis costs are free, but the lead time is long.
The service organization : the cell support is not widespread , it follows that the
patient circuit , is not individualized , which makes it difficult to access, against
reference is lacking in most cases .
The doctor-patient relationship is marked by respect for privacy, but the time
allocated to the consultation does not encourage to the patient advise properly, to
know his needs ,to give help the neither his involvement .
Conclusion
The study allowed us to study the accessibility and availability of health system
responsiveness and satisfaction, So to improve the quality of care for patients with
hypertension , we propose the adoption of an integrated model of care centered on
the patient and collaboration among all stakeholders.
