Assignment 1, Part A:
Your task is to simulate production of robotic cars using tool Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation.
The production line contains:
1. A store
2. A collaborative robot
3. A transportation system with three shuttles
4. An Assembly robot
5. A Manipulation robot
The store contains:
1. 10 boxes with printed circuits. Each box contains printed circuits for ten cars.
2. 100 chassis
3. 100 engines
4. 100 battery packs
5. 400 wheels
The sequence of operations:
1. The manipulation robot takes a box with the printed circuits from the store and places it on
a transportation shuttle (duration 5 s).
2. The shuttle moves it to the collaborative robot.
3. The collaborative robot places the whole box to the workstation with a human operator
(duration 10 s).
4. The manipulation robot loads a shuttle with a chassis and assembles an engine to it. Next,
the manipulation robot places to the shuttle a battery pack and four wheels (duration 60 s).
5. The shuttle moves to the assembly robot.
6. The assembly robot mounts the battery pack and the wheels to the chassis (duration 40 s).
7. The shuttle moves the chassis to the workstation with the human operator.
8. The human operator finishes the robotic car by mounting a printed circuit into it (duration
40 s).
9. The shuttle transports the finished car to the manipulation robot.
10. The manipulation robot moves the finished car to the store (duration 5 s).
Notes:
1. Simulate production of 100 cars.
2. You can model every robot and workstation as a single process.
3. Assume that the shuttles move 1 m/s.
