OBJECTIFS DU COURS - - - - familiariser les étudiants à l’utilisation des panels distributeur et consommateur qui sont devenus des outils de prise de décision totalement incontournable dans le monde du marketing de grande consommation. faire découvrir le monde de la distribution qui n’est plus seulement un intermédiaire entre les fabricants et les consommateurs mais également un acteur à part entière de l’univers de la grande consommation. réconcilier les étudiants avec les études marketing qui sont trop souvent perçues comme un « mal nécessaire » alors qu’elles sont un outil extrêmement puissant de compréhension du consommateur et d’orientation stratégique de la marque. faire le lien entre la théorie et la pratique à travers un cas marketing permettant d’utiliser des données de panels et d’en tirer des enseignements et des recommandations opérationnelles. Cette épreuve prendra la forme d’une étude de cas à réaliser Page | 4 Course Catalogue / PGE2 - Marketing & Sales Track – Fall Semester 2015 Brand Marketing PRESENTATION Le brand Management - ou gestion de marque - s’est développé de manière significative à partir des années 1980 sous l’effet de nombreux facteurs : pression concurrentielle croissante, arrivée à maturité de nombreux marchés, augmentation des coûts de communication… Désormais, la pérennité d’une entreprise dépend directement de la force et de la « signification » de sa marque aux yeux des consommateurs, ce qui oblige les entreprises à donner à leur marque une valeur et une importance stratégique de premier ordre. La gestion de marque est donc une composante essentielle que doit maîtriser le futur manager pour appréhender avec pertinence non seulement l’essence de sa marque mais également son évolution et ses transformations. OBJECTIFS DU COURS L’objectif du cours est d’approfondir la gestion de la marque à partir d’outils et modèles d’analyse ayant une portée managériale directe, en comprenant comment ces outils s’intègrent à la stratégie marketing de l’entreprise. Il s’agira également d’étudier différents concepts liés à la dimension symbolique et psychologique de la marque, tout en proposant des méthodologies d’analyse de ces concepts. The course will examine both private and public law issues from both an international and comparative perspective. COURSE OBJECTIVES The course will focus will on the transactional aspects of national and international business as well as on the legal, cultural, political and economic environment affecting marketing decisions which are made upon an international and/or global scale. After this course, students will be able to: - understand the importance of the legal set-up in accordance with the goals and global strategy of the company - understand the differences between the different legal systems and their impact on contracts (civil and common law) - understand the principles and features of national and international trade (sale of merchandise and services) - understand the importance of trade marks (brand) as immaterial assets : registration, protection and exploitation in a national and international context. TEACHING METHODS & TOOLS This seminar is divided into four (4) three-hour sessions of lecture which include active student participation. Students will acquire knowledge and skills using the documents provided by the Lecturer. The Lecturer will provide supplementary teaching input, assess the student’s understanding of the documents studied prior to the session and assist the students in better understanding the various themes of the session. Effective decision making and strategy formulation in an international context is based on an understanding of global events including international politics, economics, cultures, institutions, exchange rates and emerging foreign competitors. Failure to do so can quickly lead to adverse consequences on a firm. Students will be introduced to relevant theoretical and conceptual frameworks through the use of lectures and case studies. The course aims to bring to light the success of Tesco’s supermarkets in the UK and compare this with French ‘Grande Distribution’ in France. The course will give students a ‘hands-on’ approach with the possibility of grasping real live situations within the world of retail marketing. COURSES OBJECTIVES By the end of the course, students will have: - a good understanding of different retail models in different countries - an understanding of the challenges and complexities of a supply chain and supplier relationships - a good understanding of consumer behaviour in retail situations - a general comprehension of the wine merchandising in supermarkets in France, in particular in the ‘Grande Distribution’ (supermarkets) - a basic knowledge of how to analyse instore merchandising - a better understanding of the potential careers in retailing TEACHING METHODS & TOOLS I II III RETAIL STRATEGY- USA AND UK ONLINE RETAIL – UK VS.
