For 33 years Camille Bérubé has been at the helm of
Beaumont Credit Union, guiding it with a strong hand and
progressive outlook. For many members and staff,
his retirement at the end of July will feel like the
end of an era.
He made the announcement at the March 4 AGM,
telling members and staff that he’s ready to pursue
new dreams and adventures with his spouse,
Jo-Anne, and his family. He also thanked staff of
the credit union for their dedication to giving BCU
members a great banking experience.
As BCU Board chair Neil Fenske said, Camille was the
perfect person for the job. “He had it all: the knowledge,
the experience, the people skills, and the strong community
roots.” Many agree Camille’s positive inuence will be felt
for a long time.

Beaumont Credit Union is a full-service, bilingual
financial institution based in the beautiful town of
Beaumont. Our welcoming atmosphere combined
with our comprehensive saving, lending, investing,
and specialized services make us the premier financial
institution in the region.
A Natural Fit
We like to think of ourselves as a natural fit for
Beaumont.
We offer an in-branch experience unlike any other
financial institution. We’re warm, friendly and welcom-
ing. We help our members achieve health and
abundance in their personal and business finances.
And while our full suite of banking services help our
members’ prosperity thrive, our community service
nurtures the health of our community.
Our vision is to be Beaumont’s financial provider of
choice. A place where service to our members and our
community comes naturally.
We’re grounded in community
History runs deep in our town. So do our roots.
Beaumont Credit Union has been providing service in
Beaumont for 68 years. This is a fact we’re proud to
share. Families continue to bring their children and
grandchildren into our branch so they can open their
first account. These young savers go on to become
long-time members. Being part of the collective his-
tory that defines the unique community we call home
is a source of great pride.
Our own family tree is also something we’re happy to
celebrate. Many of our staff members have worked
with us for decades. All of them are considered family.
Healthy growth
2013 was a year of robust growth for Beaumont Credit
Union. We’re proud to report that we achieved success
with a number of our corporate goals. For instance,
we saw an increase of 5.5 % in loans, and also had
increases in assets and member deposits – all signs
of financial strength and positive growth. The Board
of Directors also declared a dividend of 2.5% on all

BIENVENUE à
la CAISSE de
BEAUMONT

Beaumont Credit Union (BCU) was

in marketing excellence during the
24th annual Marketing Association for
Credit Unions (MACU) Achievement
in Marketing Excellence Awards
(AIME) Gala in Montreal, QC.
The AIME Awards recognize out-
standing marketing achievements within the
credit union industry over the past year. This year
161 entries were received in 14 categories.
Beaumont Credit Union won an “AIM” award for
its 2013 annual report, which highlighted the credit
union’s service delivery promises and community
support initiatives along with its annual nancials.
The Credit Union also won a coveted “AIME”
award in the Special Events Category for its Red
Cross Flood Relief Campaign entry. During that
campaign, $7,862 in community donations and
matching credit union funds were raised for Red Cross ood relief and

Lending a Hand
During Volunteer Week
Our Random Acts of Kindness Team showed their community spirit
by taking part in special activities during Volunteer Week, from
April 6 to 12. Our staff served tea and cookies to senior citizens and
read to children at the Beaumont Library. But it didn’t stop there.
Our RAK team has been busy ever since. They took part in recent
activities such as:
• French Club Wine and Cheese
• Communities in Bloom
• McHappy Day
• Mother/Daughter Fairy Princess Tea
• Tim Horton’s 50th Anniversary
• Seniors’ Spring Tea
• SADD Dodgeball Tournament
… and there are plenty
more events to come, so
be on the lookout for our
green jackets! Thanks to
all our volunteers for their
tireless work!
Our Random Acts of
Kindness (RAK) Month
Was a Hit!
To celebrate all the people that make
Beaumont a great place to live and work,
BCU wanted to do something special.
So during the whole month of March
we visited workplaces, rec centres and
coffee shops to hand out special gifts
and treats. We were very pleased with
the response from the community –
they were highly appreciative, and quite
surprised! Our favourite activity was
giving away 100 free coffees at Tim Horton’s one morning! A close
second was buying breakfast for the early risers at A&W, a great
way for our Lending Team to start the day. Thanks for making it a
great month, Beaumont!
RAK LOCATIONS
• Home Hardware
• Uniglobe Travel
• Fern’s Dog Grooming
We’d also like to extend our thanks to McDonalds
and Tim Horton’s for their donations and support.
• Beaumont Dry Cleaners

MEMBER-OWNER
APPRECIATION BARBECUE
It was our lucky day last Friday the 13th,
when we were able to show our appreciation
to all our member-owners by hosting a
community barbecue! We organize this event
every year to let all our members know that
they mean the world to us! Plus, we love
having the chance to visit and catch up with
everyone. This is our favourite afternoon
of the year. (Although the grad barbecue
on June 11, which celebrated our Grade 12
grads, is a close second).

MONEYWISE
How to Save
Money on Your
Family Vacation
this Summer
BEFORE YOUR TRIP
Set up an account
specically for your
special trip. Make weekly
contributions and watch
your money grow!
Set a budget and stick to it.
Compare prices online for travel and
accommodation and choose the one that ts
your budget best.
Determine ways to save
such as using credit card travel points,
frequent traveller miles, or discounts you
may be eligible for.
Pick a destination
that ts within your budget. Odds are,
you will have just as much fun at the more
affordable destination.
DURING YOUR TRIP
Make the most of your funds
by planning ahead. This might mean packing
a cooler with drinks and sandwiches for a
road trip. Or, choose a hotel room with a
kitchenette so you can stock up on groceries
when you arrive. This will save you from going
out to pricey restaurants for every meal.
Stay with Friends or Family
if you are travelling to an area where you have
relatives or acquaintances, consider asking
them if they’ll host you for a night or two.
Above all: Have fun with your family.
These are the memories that will last a lifetime!
Mothers Day at BCU
We had a special coffee and cake treat in-branch
on May 16 in honour of mothers day. A number of
staff members helped set up a special display of photos
with their own mothers. It was a terric tribute, and our
members loved it!
Changes to Credit Union Practices
There has been a recent change to the rules for credit union
deposits in Alberta. Any deposits made at members’ non-home
branch will be held for one business day.
This change still doesn’t affect the great number of benets Alberta credit union
members enjoy. Many of our members might not even realize they are able to bank at
any credit union in Alberta without paying any extra fees. All our members have access
to any credit union ATM or branch location across the province. In fact, there are more
than 20 ATM and branch locations in the Edmonton region alone.
