Round One (20 minutes) French Spelling Bee 2014 Directions: A judge will randomly select a word from this list. All words will not be chosen. It’s best to spend more time studying the words that are the most difficult to you. Once a word is chosen, the judge will say the word twice. You should repeat the word and spell it in French. Judges are allowed to say the word only three times. If you need the word repeated, ask in French using the following expression: Répétez, s’il vous plaît. If there is a pause for longer than ten seconds, you will be eliminated from the contest. When you spell a word, make sure you include the diacritical marks as well as the hyphen when necessary. You must also indicate capitalization. Use the following examples to help you.
