ECS 4101 CAUSES OF CONFLICT I: BIOLOGICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL APPROACHES (3cr.)
Examination of the many possible causes of conflict and violence such as aggression, instinct, character traits, learned behaviours, socialization,
personality disorders, group influences, mob behaviour, and perceptual issues.
Prerequisites: ECS 2111, ECS 2112, ECS 2192, PSY 1101 or IPA1121, PSY 1102 or IPA1122.
ECS 4501 CAUSES DES CONFLITS I: APPROCHES BIOLOGIQUES ET PSYCHOLOGIQUES (3cr.)
Étude de plusieurs causes possibles des conflits et de la violence comme l'agressivité, l'instinct, la personnalité, l'apprentissage, la socialisation, les
troubles de la personnalité, l'influence du groupe, le comportement des foules, les perceptions.
Préalables : ECS2511, ECS2512, ECS2592, PSY1501 ou IPA1521, PSY1502 ou IPA1522.
HUM 1103 INTRODUCTION TO GROUP DYNAMICS (3cr.)
This course initiates participants to the group phenomenon and to differentfundamental concepts, such as group typology, elements of groupdynamics,
as well as conditions and factors that are part of interpersonal andgroup communication. Participants learn to be aware of the qualityof their participation
and to develop their capacity to observe and tointeract.
HUM 1503 INTRODUCTION À LA VIE DE GROUPE (3cr.)
Initiation aux phénomènes de la vie de groupe. Étude des différentsconcepts de base: typologie des groupes, éléments de la dynamiqued'un groupe,
participation optimale, conditions et facteurs de lacommunication interpersonnelle et groupale. Prise de conscience de laqualité de sa participation.
Développement de sa capacité d'observationd'un groupe et des habiletés relationnelles.
IGL 2136 GROUP INTERVENTION LAB 1 (3cr.)
Exploration and practice of basic group participatory processes and techniques. In-class filming of facilitation practices. Participation, facilitation and
observation skills are developed as well the ability to observe, and to provide and receive insightful feedback.
Prerequisite or concomitant: IGL1103. This course was previously ANI2136.
IGL 2138 GROUP INTERVENTION LAB 2 (3cr.)
Reflection on group intervention and leadership practices and outcomes. Reflection on personal values and their potential impact on groups. Exploration
and practice of advanced group participatory processes and techniques.
Prerequisite: IGL2136. This course was previously ANI2138.
