Thèmes de recherche
Mon activité de recherche relève du champ de la psycho-oncologie. Elle porte sur le retentissement psychologique et
interpersonnel du cancer et de ses traitements, sur les facteurs psychologiques entravant ou favorisant l’adaptation
psychologique à la maladie et à sa prise en charge, et sur le développement et l’évaluation d’interventions psychosociales en
oncologie. Les recherches mises en place suivent les avancements de la cancérologie et de ses modes de prise en charge.
Elles s’adressent ainsi aux enjeux psychologiques de l’identification d’une mutation génétique prédisposant au cancer ou
permettant de cibler les thérapeutiques, des essais cliniques de nouveaux protocoles de traitement. A ce titre, je m’intéresse à
l’expérience de la qualité de vie, du bien-être, de la satisfaction vis-à-vis des soins, à la spécification de ces vécus et leur
évaluation quantitative. Je coordonne et participe aux recherches menées par le groupe qualité de vie de l’Organisation
Européenne de Recherche et de Traitement du Cancer (EORTC), visant la mise au point et la validation internationale de ce
type d’outils. Mes recherches en psycho-oncologie ont été menées dans différents centres d’oncologie à Bruxelles, à Milan et,
depuis 2000, à l’Institut Curie à Paris, où je coordonne une équipe de recherche dont les travaux portent sur les difficultés et
les besoins en soins de support et sur l’amélioration de la communication médecin/patient en oncologie.
