Mission Survie
You will be creating an information packet on a French speaking location anywhere in the world.
The packet can be completed in one of the following formats:
scrapbook
booklet
pamphlet / brochure
photostory
If you have another idea for your final product, please see me for approval.
Your packet must include the following sections:
1. Cartes (Maps)
2. Directions, Panneau de Signalisation, Transportation (Directions, Road Signs and
Transportation)
3. Restaurants
4. Logement (lodging)
5. Attractions Touristiques (Tourist Attractions)
Your projects will be marked according to a set of criteria (see rubric)
Part of your mark will be a peer evaluation. You will be presenting your final products in a travel expo in
which your peers will view and mark your work.
We will begin this unit on April 28th and your final projects will be due May 3rd. You will have one
computer lab day a week.
Check points:
May 14th: sections 1 and 2
May 25th: sections 3 and 4
June 3rd: section 5 completed, final project handed in.

2. Directions, Panneau de Signalisation, Transportation (Directions, Road Signs and
Transportation)
a. Explain in a diagram with labels and sentences the directions from Sussex to the region
you chose. Include transportation methods (you can make this up).
b. verbes voyager, prendre, changer (présent et passé composé)
c. 20 vocabulary words (listed in English and French, include part of sentence and gender if
applicable)
d. Find 10 pictures of French road signs and explain in English.
e. An example of a conversation you would have if you needed directions 10 questions and
answers.
3. Restaurants
a. Find a French menu from a restaurant your region and translate it to English (at least 2
selections from each section of the menu) Include pictures and labels if available.
b. verbes manger, pouvoir, vouloir (présent et passé composé)
c. 20 vocabulary words (listed in English and French, include part of sentence and gender if
applicable)
d. An example of a conversation you would have with restaurant staff (ordering, paying, etc)
10 questions and answers
e. Show your chosen restaurants on your regional map
4. Logement (Lodging)
a. Find examples of 3 different types of lodging in your chosen region. Describe and indicate
cost of each.
b. verbes rester, dormir (présent et passé composé)
c. 20 vocabulary words (listed in English and French, include part of sentence and gender if
applicable)
d. An example of a conversation you would have with staff when booking, checking in,
checking out etc. 10 questions and answers
e. Show your chosen lodging on your regional map
5. Attractions Touristiques (Tourist Attractions)
a. Find 5 tourist attractions in your region. Describe them and indicate cost. Explain why this
is a popular tourist attraction/why it would be a good thing to visit.

c. 20 vocabulary words (listed in English and French, include part of sentence and gender if
applicable)
