Catalina Martínez is permanent Research Fellow at the Institute of Public Goods and
Policies (IPP) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Madrid since 2006. Her
research focuses on the analysis of science and technology policies and indicators and
the economics of innovation, with special attention to patents, markets for technology
and science-industry links. She holds a PhD in Economics from Universitat Autònoma of
Barcelona and before joining CSIC, she worked between 1997 and 2000 at an economic
consulting firm on competition policy in London and Brussels (Lexecon Ltd) and
between 2000 and 2006 at the Directorate for Science, Technology and Industry at the
OECD in Paris.

Catalina Martínez est chargée de recherche à l'Institut de Politiques et Biens Publics
(IPP) du Conseil National de la Recherche espagnol (CSIC) à Madrid depuis 2006. Ses
recherches portent sur l'analyse des politiques et des indicateurs scientifiques et
technologiques et l'économie de l'innovation, avec une attention particulière aux
brevets, aux marchés du secteur technologique et des liens entre science/industrie.
Elle détient un doctorat en économie de l'Université Autonome de Barcelone. Entre
1997 et 2000, avant de rejoindre la CSIC, elle a exercé dans un cabinet de conseil
économique sur la politique de concurrence à Londres et à Bruxelles (Lexecon Ltd).
S’ajoute à son parcours, une expérience à la Direction de la science, de la technologie
et de l'Industrie à l'OCDE à Paris entre 2000 et 2006.
