ACOUSTIC FRIDAY
Featuring Zen-Zo
Friday, 27 November
| EDITORIAL / ÉDITORIAL
| PAGE 1
traduira localement cet esprit d'excellente collaboration

JACQUELINE BASSA-MAZZONI
Ambassadeur de France en Namibie
Présidente du Conseil d’administration du CCFN
We are approaching the end of
2015. It was a year particularly
rich and dense in all kinds of
emotions, and we are pleased to have
shared with you. But we have not said
our last word!
Before the annual closing of the FNCC as from the 11th of
December 2015 to the 11th of January 2016, the Centre
will offer many cultural, amusing, exciting and interesting
events for everyone, in order to support you in the best
way possible towards the festive season. Fireworks!
Events I would like to highlight are: French, African and
international films (the Turkish Film Week), Concerts (Do
not miss the last Acoustic Friday of the year with Zen-Zo!),
Debates, Dance, Exhibitions, Stories and Art Talk!
Finally, from the 30
th
November to the 11
th
December,
the COP21 on Climate Change will be held in Paris under
French Presidency. This diplomatic event - the biggest
ever - is another opportunity for France and Namibia to
strengthen exemplary and indefatigable ties. I take this
opportunity to congratulate the Government of Namibia
on its very ambitious proposal to reduce Greenhouse
Gas Emissions by 89% by 2030. In Windhoek the FNCC
will locally translate this COP21 spirit through a special
week from the 30th November to the 4th December 2015.
The FNCC's next Board Meeting to be held in November
will be very important. A new Namibian co-chair will be
effective after Mrs Retha-Louise Hofmeyr retired who
we all miss for her involvement, the relevance of her
interventions and for her smile. Furthermore, an action
plan for the next 5 years of the FNCC will be proposed
to enable the Centre to become stronger, more visible,
more attractive, and more present with the upcoming
25 years celebration of the FNCC in Namibia that we will
be held in July 2016.
But that's another story...
I extend to you all an early season's greetings and I invite
you to join in November and December the FNCC's lovers'
growing community.

NAMIBIAN SPIRIT
An Exhibition by Sarah Rosana
Arriving in Namibia in 2006, Sarah Rosana has
been drawing ever since she could hold a pencil.
This young French woman is a big fan of Manga
which she enjoys sketching with colour pencils.
However, she presents something different in this
exhibition. Inspired by the Namibian fauna, Sarah
utilises pencil and coffee to depict portraits.
KEZIAH JONES
The Warehouse Theatre and FNCC are proud to host
Keziah Jones for the first time in Namibia. Keziah
is a Nigerian/British singer-songwriter and guitarist
who describes his musical style as Blufunk, which is a
fusion between raw blues elements and hard, edgy
funk rhythms.
Influential producer and music creator Brian Eno
dubbed Keziah “the African Hendrix”. In Parnership
with Warehouse Theatre, Stay Today Namibia and FNCC.
