Description of Each Phase of the Lesson Plan
Brief Reflection/Explanation
Introduction:
1. Skit on match.com
I will pretend to sit at my computer to be filling out a personal
profile online at Match.com for a âme soeur. I will say…
“ Faire le profil d’amour à Match.com… Je cherche pour une âme
soeur… je préfère une homme peut-être. Oui, c’est ca!”
Les premières questions… Qu’est ce que vous aimez?... C’est
facile, je sais ce question. Alors, J’aime l’exercice… les chiens…
et manger au restaurants élégants. J’aime la cinéma aussi!“
“Mais, Qu’est ce que je n’aime pas…? Ah, les chats, je n’aime pas
les chats… et le brocoli, no merci…”
Suivant… Comment êtes-vous? Ah this is new… êtes… être… Ah
alors… Je suis intelligent, parce que j’étude a l’université, Je
suis sociable, j’aime parler avec mes amies… et je suis sportive
aussi, parce que j’aime courir chaque jour… C’est suffi..”
… Mais ce que je cherche dans l’autre…?”
Model a skit so they can
figure out what they will be
learning, and doing for the
day…
2. CHERCHER pour l’âme soeur (on board)
Have the question of the chapter… “Comment êtes-vous?” on
the board along with skit background of l’âme soeur
3. Explain objectives for the day
“Voulez-vous chercher pour ton âme soeur?”
“After today, you will be able to create your own personal
profile to find your very one true soulmate”
While having a setting on the
board to aide in figuring out
the topic, as well as having
the topic in French for
visualization.

Instruction:
4. Hand out packets
Qu’est ce que c’est… cette frase? (Comment êtes-vous?)
“Cette une verbe que nous ne connaissons pas…”
5. Go through Vocabulaire - page 28
Have students look over the page with a partner for no more
than two minutes, then regroup and have each one read at least
one passage and ask them to present what they think it means
by the picture. Have a graphic organizer on board. Record their
thoughts.
Practice:
6. Partner activity over Mise en pratique…
Have student’s pair up and go over exercise and see if they can
figure out by looking at them, and classify in table. Go over as
group.
7. Le verbe être
As they are doing this partner activity, I will write the
conjugaison of être on the board. Go over as a group
8. Go over negation of a verb…
“What if you wanted to say.. ”I am not… or I do not like…?”
9. Formation des adjectifs…
“In French, adjectives agree in number and gender!”
“Alors, on regarde page 37… et puis 39”
10. Practique avec le forme personelle de soi… (Questionnaire
d’amour/d’amitié)
This will be the activity we start but maybe not finish in the
day.
Assessment:
Turn in Questionaires d’amour for starting to process your profile
for your prospects.
Time:
Handing out workbooks for
rechercher le sujet! They are
personal handbooks therefore
they are organized for the
essential basic grammatique.
Partner activity allows for
more perspectives and ideas to
figure out more individually
without necessarily giving
direct instruction. I want them
to hypothesize what may be
and why.
Turn in the questionnaires
allows for the teacher to
monitor performance as well as
keep work in order and
accountable.
Preview what is to come as well
as connecting the days lesson
to the ending goal helps the
student become more
organized and ready to learn
more onto previous knowledge.
Closure/Wrap Up:
Explain the unit presentation
5 min
“Now this lesson and the developement of this grammar unit will
prepare us for what I will be assigning as the unit project. I will be
having you create a personal presentation about yourself as well as
your family. I want you to cover the basic criteria, EN Bref, that
we have gone over in class.
Describing yourself, Comparing yourself to other (Which we will
continue on in our next class, incorporating adjectives and
continuing in using negated forms of sentences. This will be a class
project presentation that we will start in a few short weeks.
For starters, tonight’s homework is to get familiar with the
adjectives in your vocabulaire and return tomorrow ready to do a
mini presentation on your best friend using five adjectives.”
