U-CRC LABORATORY OF CANCER EPIGENETICS PhD AND POSTDOC ON EPIGENETICS/CANCER (Brussels) Job description: A position is available for a highly motivated student or PhD that wishes to join the Laboratory of Cancer Epigenetics headed by Prof. François Fuks (ULB-Cancer Research Center, Brussels). You will be expected to conduct cancer research in epigenetics and epigenomics. Specifically, you will investigate the mechanisms and functions of a novel epigenetic modification, which our lab recently investigated (Delatte et al., Science 2016). Genetic, biochemical and cell biological as well as genome-wide approaches (e.g. RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, Infinium Methylation) will be applied. The lab is running a Next Generation Sequencing platform: EPICS (http://epics.ulb.be/) and is part of the ULB-Cancer Research Center (U-CRC), providing a high profile scientific environment. Profile/Starting date: - PhD: candidates should have a good first degree (BSc or MSc) in Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry or related. The PhD will be funded by the Belgian FNRS. - Postdoc: Applicants should hold a PhD degree in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology or related disciplines (or have recently submitted their thesis with their defence scheduled) and have published (or about to publish) in a peer reviewed journal. Experience in epigenetics/epigenomics would be an asset. The position is funded for 3 years. For both positions, screening of applications begins immediately and continues until an outstanding candidate is selected (flexible starting date). How to apply?: Informal enquiries, a CV (including grades and ranking for PhD applicant) and names of two referees should be send to: Valentina Albarani ([email protected]).
