Yalta et Potsdam

Yalta
•Ces accords se réalisèrent tant que dura la collaboration entre les Alliés. Mais il devient
vite remarquable que les Alliés ont des conceptions très différentes en ce qui concerne
l’avenir de l’Europe. Certaines de ces conceptions apparaissent déjà vers la fin de la
guerre, lors de la conférence qui à lieu à Yalta en février 1945. Les « Trois Grands de
l’Epoque » : Franklin Roosevelt, Winston Churchill et Joseph Staline ont conclu des
accords comprenant des droits de l’Occident, qui vont se révélé très importants pour le
monde d’après guerre.
•Le but principal de Staline est de protéger son pays contre de futures attaques comme en
1914 et en 1941. En construisant une « zone tampon », en utilisant les pays voisins. La
meilleure solution pour lui est une plus grande Pologne avec un gouvernement ami de
l’Union-Soviétique.
•Les Alliés acceptent cette proposition contre la promesse de Staline, de l’entrée en
guerre de son pays contre le Japon 2 mois après la capitulation de l’Allemagne.

•The Conference agreed the following Protocols:
•to set up the four ‘zones of occupation’in Germany. The Nazi Party, government and
laws were to be destroyed, and 'German education shall be so controlled as completely
to eliminate Nazi and militarist doctrines and to make possible the successful
development of democratic ideas.
•to bring Nazi war-criminals to trial.
•to recognize the Polish Provisional Government of National Unity and hold 'free and
unfettered elections as soon as possible'.
•Russia was allowed to take reparations from the Soviet Zone, and also 10% of the
industrial equipment of the western zones as reparations. America and Britain could
take reparations from their zones if they wished.
