ThousandIslandsPlayhousewasaninstantcriticalandboxofficesuccess.

ThisisthesecondoffourplaysthatMarkCrawfordhaswritten.HestudiedattheUniversityofTorontoand
SheridanCollegeandhasperformedinmanytheatresthroughoutCanada.Whenhisfirstplay,StagandDoe,
premieredattheBlythFestivalin2014asasecondproductionofitransimultaneouslyatthePortStanley
FestivalTheatre,Markconsideredhimself“theluckiestrookieplaywrightinCanada”(TheLondonFreePress,
August18,2014).Thoughtrainedasanactor,Markalsofosteredaninterestinwriting.“Ittookseveralyearsof
workingonplaysofallkindstofigureouthowtotellastoryonstage.Forme,beinganactorwasthebest
trainingforbeingaplaywright.”
PaulDunn,whooriginatedtheroleofDrewin2015,isthelifepartnertoMark’scharacter,Brett,howeverart
imitateslifeasthetwoarealsoacoupleinreality.Paul,aNationalTheatreSchoolgraduatewhohas
performedatToronto’sBuddiesinBadTimesandtheTarragonTheatreaswellasLondonOntario’sGrand
TheatreandTheatreNewBrunswick,makeshisMontrealandCentaurdebutwiththisproduction.
AshlieCorcoran,co-founderandArtisticProducerofTheatreSmashandArtisticDirectoroftheThousand
IslandPlayhousewastheoriginaldirectorofBedandBreakfast.ThisremountisdirectedbyKristaColosimo,
whohassevenShawFestivalstohercreditasanactorandwaslastseeninMontrealattheSegalCentreinThe
Seagull.SetandcostumeswerecreatedbyDanaOsborne,whohasdesignedforbothShawandStratford
festivalsaswellasSoulpepperandMirvishProductions.Three-timeDorawinnerwhospecializesintheatreand
dance,RebeccaPicherack,makesherCentaurdebutasthelightingdesigner.Sounddesignandoriginal
compositionswerecreatedbysix-timeDorawinner,JohnGzowski.JohnwillbeworkingalongsideCentaur’s
incomingArtisticandExecutiveDirector,EdaHolmes,inherShawproductionofDraculathissummer.Stage
Manager,MichaelBarrs,alsomakeshisCentaurdebut,andheisassistedbyApprenticeStageManager,
MarissaIreland.
