Dice Games : Verb Conjugation
*Game 1 - Present Tense
• Use 2 dice (preferably two different colours).
• On the board or on a handout, number from 1 to 6 in two columns (Dice A and Dice B)
Under the A column, put a different subject pronoun by each number. Under B, put different
infinitives.
• The first die determines the subject and the second determines the verb.
• The first student to correctly conjugate the six infinitives on their game card wins.
**Future/Conditional/Imperfect Tense
• Same as above but students conjugate in the future/conditional/imperfect tense
** Game 2 - Reflexive Verbs
Follow the rules for the present tense game but remind students to include the reflexive
pronoun.
***Game 3 - Past Tense
Same as above but students conjugate in the passé composé
o 1st game concentrates on
regular verbs + avoir
o 2nd game concentrates on
irregular verbs + avoir
o 3rd game concentrates on
‘Vandertramp’ verbs + être
o 4th game is a mix of all of the
above.
