ABSTRACT
Our clinical internship took place from July 23 to August 18, 2025, at the Mbouda district hospital.
During this period, we went through departments such as the morgue, the operating theater, and
mainly surgery, which allowed us to observe and carry out several activities including: dressings,
management of accident victims, monitoring of parameters, the role of circulating nurse in the
operating theater and assistant surgeon, dressing a deceased person for burial, sterilization of
equipment, placement of a splint, education of a woman on post-op care after spinal anesthesia...
Throughout this period, we were able to study a clinical case: umbilical hernia, which is the
protrusion of an organ out of its cavity at the level of the umbilicus. Despite a problem like the high
number of interns, which prevented us from actually working in the operating theater, we suggest
that the school take into account the number of interns it sends to the departments. At the end of
this, we can say we achieved 90.90% of our objectives.
