Pen Tool LET’S PRACTICE (Single Curve)
Start by placing a first anchor point on left.
Click, hold and drag cursor upwards, hold
Shift for a 90° line and release it when
aligned with the dotted line.
Place second anchor point on right.
Click, hold and drag cursor downwards, hold
Shift for a 90° line and release it when aligned
with the dotted line.
Hit Esc to finish.
Pen Tool LET’S PRACTICE (45° Curve)
Start by placing a first anchor point on left.
Click, hold and drag cursor upwards tilted on
an angle, hold Shift for a 45° line and release
it when aligned with the dotted line.
Place second anchor point on right.
Click, hold and drag cursor upwards tilted on
an angle, hold Shift for a 45° line and release
it when aligned with the dotted line.
Hit Esc to finish.
Pen Tool LET’S PRACTICE (Breaking Paths)
Start by placing a first anchor point as
shown.
Click, hold and drag cursor sideways to
the right, hold down Shift for a 180° line
and release it when aligned with the
dotted line.
Place second anchor point as shown.
Click, hold and drag cursor downwards,
hold down Shift for a 90° line and release
it when aligned with the dotted line.
Place third anchor point as shown.
Click, hold and drag cursor downwards,
hold Shift for a 90° line and release.
Pen Tool LET’S PRACTICE (Breaking Paths)
To adjust handles hold Alt Key to access
the direct selection tool and drag the
handles down, holding the Shift key at
the same time. Release it when aligned
with the dotted line.
Keeping the Alt and Shift keys pressed
adjust the bottom handle slightly tilted.
And release it when aligned with the
dotted line.
To break the curve, hold Alt press grab
and move the second handle’s half by
bringing it up to the dotted line.
Pen Tool LET’S PRACTICE (Breaking Paths)
Place the fourth anchor point adjusting the
handle the same way as the first part of the
silhouette.
Close the shape by placing the last anchor
point and adjust the handle
Adjust last handle by holding Alt + Shift
Hit Esc to finish.
