Introduction
Global situation:
Public health concerns worldwide (WHO, 1993), one of
leading causes of communicable diseases
Cambodia, one among the 30 countries with high burden
Globally, 9.6 million new TB cases (6 million detected and
reported to WHO (1994)
1.5 million people killed, 400, 000 were HIV positive
HIV positive among TB patients 12%
2015 last year of MDGs (Three main targets)
Reduction of TB prevalence by 50%;
Reduction of TB mortality by 50% and
Reverse TB incidence
2015-2020: SDGs
The end TB strategy 2016-2035
Reduction of TB mortality 90% by end 2030 and 95% by
the end of 2035
Reduction of TB incidence by 80% by end 2030m
abdomen 90% by end 2035
Cambodia situation
>530 thousands detected and treated
Incidence rate decreased 3.5% per year compared to
average global reduction of 1.5%
Mortality rate decreased from 157/100,000 population in
1990 to 58/100,000 in 2924 (63% compared to target 50%
by end 2015)
