IV- Environment Introduction -The environment is everything around us. It is the set of natural and artificial elements within which human life takes place. With current ecological issues, the term environment is currently tending to take on an increasingly global dimension. In our time, the environment is perceived as a material to be sculpted, a territory to be structured, to be managed. This conception derives from a Promethean approach aimed at asserting the domination of man over nature. Faced with the discourse of an often naive and anti-humanist radical ecology, the instrumental and Cartesian approach to the environment seems natural, based on reason and totally adapted to the economic, industrial, commercial and financial needs of our time. They determine the variable character of the human habitat , its opportunities as well as limitation Elements of environment Biological elements Biological elements such as plants , animals , microorganisms and men constitute the biosphere : Elements of environment Cultural elements It’s contains all the traditions and rituals carried by people from different parts of world : Health& Environmental Effects Of Air Pollution What are the consequences of air pollution on the environment ? Heatlth Effects Air pollution can harm us when it accumulates in the air in high enough concentrations. Millions of Americans live in areas where urban smog, particle pollution, and toxic pollutants pose serious health concerns. People exposed to high enough levels of certain air pollutants may experience: Irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat Wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and breathing difficulties Worsening of existing lung and heart problems, such as asthma Increased risk of heart attack Who Is Most at Risk ? Air pollution is a problem for all of us. However, some groups of people are especially sensitive to common air pollutants such as particulates and ground-level ozone. Sensitive populations include children, older adults, people who are active outdoors, and people with heart or lung diseases, such as asthma. If you are sensitive to air pollution, we need to be aware of steps we can take to protect our health. How can we protect the environement ? Differents ways to protect natural ressources and environment Ride bicycles or walk to reduce using gasoline . Use less paper to save trees . Use less plastic . Use less water . Use less energy . When reduce using resource we : Save natural resources Make the air cleaner
