REGISTRATION INFORMATION
INVITATION TO REGISTER
The African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC) invites you
to register for AORTIC 2009. It is AORTIC’s seventh international cancer conference
and follows on the success of AORTIC 2007 in Cape Town and AORTIC 2005 in Dakar.
The theme of AORTIC 2009 is Cancer in Africa - the New Reality and will focus on all
aspects of cancer care and management from prevention and diagnoses to treatment
and palliation. It will be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, 11-14 November 2009.
AORTIC is committed to making cancer control a priority on the health care agendas
of all African countries and one of the organisation’s most effective tools is its biennial
international conference. The scientific programme will promote and facilitate an
international exchange of research and practical information among practitioners
working in cancer care, in Africa and around the world. Delegates to AORTIC 2009 will
also make progress toward fulfilling their annual CPD requirement.

SOCIAL PROGRAMME
opeNiNg CeremoNy aNd WelCome reCepTioN
The Opening Ceremony is the formal start to the conference and AORTIC
dignitaries and supporters will welcome delegates. The Welcome
Reception follows, where delegates will have the opportunity to meet up
with colleagues and plan for the conference week. Drinks and substantial
snacks will follow entertainment with a lively African flavour.
gala diNNer
The Gala Dinner will be held at the Kunduchi Beach Hotel and Resort.
This festive occasion is one of the highlights of the conference and rounds
off the event in style. There will be a short reception followed by dinner and
entertainment and it promises to be a very memorable occasion.

AORTIC 2009 REGISTRATION
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Registration will only be valid once all monies
are received.
2. All payments to be made payable to AGENDA
DESTINATION MANAGEMENT.
3. All cancellations must be received in writing.
- Cancellations 90 days prior to the beginning
of the conference will receive a full refund less
a 10% administration fee.
- Cancellations between 90 and 30 days
will be refunded 50% of the fees less the
administration fees; if registration fees are
outstanding, the delegate will be liable for
50% of the conference fees.
- No refunds will be provided for cancellations
or no-shows within 30 days of the start of the
conference and the delegate will be liable for
the full conference fee.
4. Completed registrations will be acknowledged
within 7 days.
5. Registrations are transferable to delegates
not yet registered only if the Conference
Secretariat is informed in writing.
6. All fees are payable in US Dollars (USD).
South African delegates may pay in South
African Rand (ZAR) on request. Any short
payment resulting from bank charges and/or
exchange rate fluctuations will be charged
back to the delegate.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
HOTEL RESERVATION PROCEDURE
1. Reservations will be made on behalf
of delegates by the AORTIC 2009
Conference Secretariat. Please complete
the appropriate section on the registration
form specifying single or double occupancy,
check-in/ check-out dates, and any other
special requests.
2. To ensure that your accommodation is
secure, please book prior to 10 August
2009. Any accommodation requests
received after this date will be dealt with on
a per availability basis.
3. In order to secure your accommodation, the
full amount due is required. Please ensure
that your credit card is valid through the
end of your stay, failing which the booking
may not be guaranteed. Any extras must be
settled in US Dollars (USD) upon check-out.
4. Cancellations 60-30 days from arrival
date, a 50% penalty will be charged. For
cancellations within 30 days of the arrival
date or failure to arrive at all (no-shows), a
100% penalty will be charged. Should you
fail to arrive as scheduled, the hotel will
charge for the loss of revenue for the night
or nights in question.

All reservations are made on a 'first come,
first served' basis. The stated room rates
and availability are valid through 10 August
2009. Thereafter, no rates or availability can
be guaranteed and requests will be dealt
with according to the current availability and
rates at the hotels.
PASSPORT DETAILS
Upon arrival at the hotel, you will be
required to complete a form with your
address and passport details. If you wish
to speed up this process, please complete
your passport details on the Registration
Form (nationality, passport number and
expiry date). This will ensure that you only
need sign the pre-completed form on
arrival.

budgets. The AORTIC 2009 Conference Secretariat has selected a range of hotels for
delegates to choose from and has negotiated guaranteed rates. Delegates can reserve
