Cette marque est utilisée par les 6 principales
criées aux fruits et légumes regroupées sous
LAVA. Depuis sa création en 1995, la marque de
qualité Flandria donne une plus-value aux
produits frais. La marque de qualité garantit la
culture dans le respect de l’environnement,
la qualité et la fraîcheur. L’histoire de Flandria
a débuté avec des tomates et des endives.
Entre-temps, plus de 55 produits différents
ornent le panier de la marque: laitues,
poivrons, poireaux, concombres, champignons,
choux-fleurs, mâche, asperges…

Unique in Europe
Flandria is the Belgian quality label for fruits
and vegetables. It is used by the six most
important fruit-and-vegetable auctions grouped
under LAVA. Since its inception in 1995, the
Flandria label has given added value to fresh
products and produce. This seal of approval
guarantees concern and care for the environment during their cultivation, plus quality
and freshness. The Flandria story started with
tomatoes and Brussels endive. Today, more than
55 different kinds of products and produce are
sold under the label. These include lettuce, red
peppers, leeks, cucumbers, mushrooms,
cauliflower, field lettuce, asparagus…

Flandria ist das belgische Qualitätslabel für
Obst und Gemüse. Es wird von den sechs
größten Obst- und Gemüseauktionen ausgegeben, die unter der Bezeichnung LAVA
zusammengefasst sind. Seit seiner Schaffung
im Jahre 1995 gewährleistet das Flandria-Label
einen Mehrwert für frische Produkte. Das
Gütezeichen steht dabei für umweltgerechten
Anbau, Qualität und Frische. Die Geschichte
von Flandria beginnt mit Tomaten und
Chicorée. Inzwischen sind unter diesem Label
mehr als 55 verschiedene Produkte erhältlich,
darunter Salat, Paprika, Lauch, Gurken,
Pilze, Blumenkohl, Feldsalat, Spargeln…

Uniek in Europa
Flandria is hét Belgische kwaliteitslabel voor groenten en fruit. Het wordt gebruikt
door de 6 belangrijkste groente- en fruitveilingen gegroepeerd onder LAVA.
Sinds de oprichting in 1995 geeft het Flandria-label een meerwaarde aan verse
producten. Het keurmerk garandeert milieubewuste teelt, kwaliteit én versheid.
Het verhaal van Flandria begon met tomaten en witloof. Ondertussen zitten er
al meer dan 55 verschillende producten onder het label. Enerzijds bestaat het
assortiment uit typisch Belgische vollegrondsgroenten en fruit, zoals witloof,
spruiten, asperges, enz. Langs de andere kant siert het kwaliteitslabel ook meer
‘zuiderse’ producten, zoals paprika, courgettes, aubergines… Die worden dan bij
ons in de serre geteeld.

Les mots-clés de la culture des produits Flandria
sont: le respect de l’environnement, l’hygiène et
la qualité. Lorsqu’il s’agit de légumes de serre,
comme les tomates ou les concombres, les
producteurs utilisent des bourdons pour la pollinisation. Il va de soi qu’ils travaillent dans le
respect de mesures adaptées et qu’ils luttent
contre les épidémies à l’aide d’ennemis naturels.
L’équilibre écologique est également respecté
dans la culture des légumes de pleine terre.
En outre, chaque cultivateur doit observer des
règles strictes en matière de qualité et de
calibrage. Les indications sur les emballages
permettent par ailleurs de retracer l’origine
de chaque caisse.

with modern-day advanced technology
The keywords in the cultivation of Flandria
products and produce are: respect for the
environment, hygiene and quality. Where it pertains to greenhouse produce such as tomatoes
and cucumbers, bumblebees are used for the
fertilisation. It goes without saying that adapted
cultivation methods are employed and biological
measures (natural enemies) are used to combat
infestations. The same ecological balancing is
applied for field produce. In addition, every
grower is required to satisfy very strict requirements with reference to quality and sorting.
By means of the markings on the packaging,
every crate is perfectly traceable, all the way
back to the grower.

Spitzentechnologie gehen Hand in Hand
Beim Anbau von Flandria-Produkten stehen
drei Begriffe im Mittelpunkt: Umweltschutz,
Sauberkeit und Qualität. So werden zur
Befruchtung von Treibhausgemüse wie Tomaten
oder Gurken beispielsweise Hummeln eingesetzt. Dabei versteht es sich von selbst, dass
angepasste Anbaumethoden verwandt und
Schädlinge nur mit natürlichen Feinden
bekämpft werden. Auch bei Gemüse aus
Bodenanbau wird auf ein ökologisches
Gleichgewicht geachtet. In diesem Zusammenhang hat sich jeder Anbauer an strenge
Qualitäts- und Sortierungsvorschriften zu
halten. Anhand der Markierungen auf der
Verpackung lässt sich zudem für jede Kiste eine
präzise Rückverfolgbarkeit garantieren.

Traditie hand in hand met spitstechnologie
Alle Flandria-groenten zijn afkomstig van familiebedrijven. Hierdoor voelt de teler
zich persoonlijk betrokken bij zijn eigen productie. Verder wordt hij professioneel
ondersteund door wetenschappers en productontwikkelaars. Er wordt constant
gewerkt aan een verbetering van de smaak en de houdbaarheid van de producten.
De kernwoorden bij het telen van Flandria-producten zijn: respect voor het milieu,
hygiëne en kwaliteit. Als het gaat om serregroenten, zoals tomaten of komkommers, dan worden hommels ingezet voor de bevruchting. Het spreekt vanzelf dat
er hier gewerkt wordt met aangepaste teeltmaatregelen en het inzetten van
natuurlijke vijanden bij plagen. Heel logisch ook, het gebruik van chemische
middelen zou ook de hardwerkende hommels doden. En dat is uiteraard niet de
bedoeling! Ook bij de vollegrondsgroenten wordt er gedacht aan het ecologisch
evenwicht. De bemesting is gebaseerd op bodemanalyses en advies.
Gewasbescherming wordt slechts in uitzonderlijke gevallen toegepast. Daarnaast
moet elke teler zich houden aan zeer strenge regels op gebied van kwaliteit en
sortering. Aan de hand van de aanduidingen op de verpakking kan bovendien
elke kist perfect getraceerd worden tot bij de oorsprong.

Only top-grade products and produce of perfect
taste and impeccable appearance are issued
with the Flandria seal of approval. The quality
seal labels a product as the result of many years
of careful effort on the part of the growers and
identifies the efficient quality assurance policy
of the auctions. Each and every link in the chain
is being inspected: the products, the produce,
the growers, and the auctions. All inspections
are, quite understandably, carried out by independent inspection agencies.

Enkel producten van topkwaliteit, met een perfecte smaak en onberispelijk
uiterlijk, krijgen het Flandria-keurmerk toegekend. Aan het kwaliteitslabel herkent
men de jarenlange inspanningen van de telers en het efficiënte kwaliteitsbeleid
van de veilingen. De Flandria-producten worden in de veilingen dagelijks gecontroleerd op kwaliteit en sortering. De telers krijgen op regelmatige tijdstippen
bedrijfsaudits en worden dan op hun productievoorwaarden gecontroleerd.
Het kwaliteitssysteem wordt gecontroleerd door erkende instellingen. Bovendien
garanderen de analyses van het onafhankelijke labo de voedselveiligheid van de
producten.

Du producteur au magasin: une chaîne
ininterrompue
Les produits Flandria sont réputés pour leur
saveur succulente et leur fraîcheur. On ne peut
avoir plus frais: les fruits et les légumes Flandria
se trouvent déjà dans les rayons des magasins
après 1 jour. Le cultivateur récolte ses produits
le matin et les livre à la criée l’après-midi; là, ils
sont stockés dans des chambres froides jusqu’à
la vente, le lendemain matin. Ensuite, les
produits sont immédiatement chargés dans des
camions frigorifiques et transportés vers les
points de vente.

From grower to store: one smooth chain
The Flandria products and produce are noted
for their juicy flavour and freshness. Anything
fresher will be hard to find: Flandria fruits and
vegetables are delivered to the store after just
one day. The grower harvests his products and
produce in the morning and delivers them to
the auction site in the afternoon, where they
will be stored in refrigerated units until the start
of the auction the next morning. Subsequently,
they are loaded on refrigerated trucks and
transported to the retailers.

Flandria-Produkte sind bekannt für ihre saftige
Beschaffenheit und ihre Frische. Frischer geht’s
auch nicht – denn Flandria-Obst und Gemüse
befindet sich schon nach einem Tag im Laden!
Und das geht so: Der Anbauer erntet sein
Produkt morgens und bringt es nachmittags
zur Auktion, wo es bis zum Auktionsverkauf am
nächsten Morgen in Kühlräumen aufbewahrt
wird. Anschließend wird es unverzüglich in
Kühl-LKW geladen und zu den Verkaufsstellen
gebracht.

Verser kan ook niet: Flandria groenten en fruit liggen al in de winkel na 1 dag.
De teler oogst zijn product ’s ochtends en brengt het in de namiddag naar de
veiling. Daar wordt het opgeslagen in koelcellen tot de klokverkoop de volgende
morgen. Dan worden ze onmiddellijk op koelvrachtwagens geladen en naar de
winkelpunten gebracht. Dankzij het ultramoderne verkoopsapparaat en de vlotte
werking gebeurt het afleveren van de producten door de teler, de kwaliteitscontrole, de verkoop en het verladen op de meest snelle en efficiënte wijze.
