Futur going to anglais
Suite du cours sur le futur en anglais avec will (cliquez-ici pour y accéder).
Will et Be+going servent tous les deux à exprimer le futur mais avec quelques subtilités différentes. Dans ce cours on va
donc s’intéresser au futur en anglais avec going to:
1/ Formation du futur going to anglais
Be + going to + verbe au présent
•Affirmative: I am going to …
•Négative: I am not going to …
•Interrogative: Am I going to …?
Exemples:
•(+) He is going to watch a movie.
•(-) He’s not going to watch a movie.
•(?) Is he going to watch a movie?
2/ Utilisation du futur going to anglais
Pour exprimer une intention, une activité que l’on veut réaliser ou qui est déjà en cours:

We are going to travel around the world for a year.
Who are you going to see tonight?
She’s going to spend her holydays in London.
Sam is going to tell her the truth.
Pour prédire une certitude:
• It’s going to rain, the sky is dark.

This summer is going to be very hot.
3/ Notes
be + about to + verbe
On peut employer be + about to si l’action est imminente ou sur le point d’arriver:
• We’re about to leave, it’s too cold here.
• I’m about to sleep.
•
She’s about to have an accident !
Les adverbes comme always, only, never, ever, still, ou just se placent avant going to:
•Tom is never going to do that.
•Is she just going to eat this?
