Dhrtarastra dit: O Sanjaya, après l'assemblage dans le lieu de pèlerinage au Kuruksetra, qu'est-ce que mes fils et
les fils de Pandu ne, désireux de se battre?
English Interpretation
Dhrtarastra said: O Sanjaya, after assembling in the place of pilgrimage at Kuruksetra, what did my sons and the
sons of Pandu do, being desirous to fight?

French Interpretation
Sanjaya dit: O roi, après avoir examiné l'armée recueillies par les fils de Pandu, roi Duryodhana est allé à son
professeur et commença à parler les mots suivants:

Sanjaya said: O King, after looking over the army gathered by the sons of Pandu, King Duryodhana went to his
teacher and began to speak the following words:

O mon professeur, voici la grande armée des fils de Pandu, si experte organisée par votre disciple intelligent, le
fils de Drupada.
English Interpretation
O my teacher, behold the great army of the sons of Pandu, so expertly arranged by your intelligent disciple, the
son of Drupada.
Chapter 1 Verse 4

bhimarjuna-sama yudhi
yuyudhano viratas ca
drupadas ca maha-rathah
French Interpretation
Ici, dans cette armée il ya beaucoup d'archers héroïques égales dans la lutte pour Bhima et Arjuna; il ya aussi des
grands combattants comme Yuyudhana, Virata et Drupada.
English Interpretation
Here in this army there are many heroic bowmen equal in fighting to Bhima and Arjuna; there are also great
fighters like Yuyudhana, Virata and Drupada.

Il ya aussi des grands, héroïques, des combattants puissants comme Dhrstaketu, Cekitana, Kasiraja, Purujit,
Kuntibhoja et Saibya.
English Interpretation
There are also great, heroic, powerful fighters like Dhrstaketu, Cekitana, Kasiraja, Purujit, Kuntibhoja and Saibya.
Chapter 1 Verse 6

yudhamanyus ca vikranta
uttamaujas ca viryavan
saubhadro draupadeyas ca
sarva eva maha-rathah
French Interpretation
Il ya le puissant Yudhamanyu, la très puissante Uttamauja, le fils de Subhadra et les fils de Draupadi. Tous ces
guerriers sont de grands combattants de chars.
English Interpretation
There are the mighty Yudhamanyu, the very powerful Uttamauja, the son of Subhadra and the sons of Draupadi.
All these warriors are great chariot fighters.

O meilleur des brahmanas, pour votre information, permettez-moi de vous parler des capitaines qui sont
particulièrement qualifié pour diriger ma force militaire.
English Interpretation
O best of the brahmanas, for your information, let me tell you about the captains who are especially qualified to
lead my military force.

Il ya des personnalités comme vous, Bhisma, Karna, KRPA, Asvatthama, Vikarna et le fils de Somadatta appelés
Bhurisrava, qui sont toujours victorieux dans la bataille.
English Interpretation
There are personalities like yourself, Bhisma, Karna, Krpa, Asvatthama, Vikarna and the son of Somadatta called
Bhurisrava, who are always victorious in battle.
Chapter 1 Verse 9

mad-arthe tyakta-jivitah
nana-sastra-praharanah
sarve yuddha-visaradah
French Interpretation
Il ya beaucoup d'autres héros qui sont prêts à donner leur vie à cause de moi. Tout d'entre eux sont bien
équipées avec différents types d'armes, et tous sont expérimentés dans la science militaire.
English Interpretation
There are many other heroes who are prepared to lay down their lives for my sake. All of them are well
equipped with different kinds of weapons, and all are experienced in military science.

Notre force est incommensurable, et nous sommes parfaitement protégé par le grand-père Bhisma, tandis que
la résistance des Pandavas, soigneusement protégé par Bhima, est limitée.
English Interpretation
Our strength is immeasurable, and we are perfectly protected by Grandfather Bhisma, whereas the strength of
the Pandavas, carefully protected by Bhima, is limited.

Maintenant vous devez tous donner leur plein appui de Grandfather Bhisma, debout à vos points stratégiques
respectifs dans la phalange de l'armée.
English Interpretation
Now all of you must give full support to Grandfather Bhisma, standing at your respective strategic points in the
phalanx of the army.

French Interpretation
Puis Bhisma, le grand-père vaillant de la dynastie Kuru, le grand-père des combattants, a fait son conque très
fort comme le bruit d'un lion, donnant Duryodhana joie.
English Interpretation
Then Bhisma, the great valiant grandsire of the Kuru dynasty, the grandfather of the fighters, blew his conchshell
very loudly like the sound of a lion, giving Duryodhana joy.

French Interpretation
Après cela, les conques, clairons, des trompettes, des tambours et des cornes ont tous été soudainement sonné,
et le son combiné était tumultueuse.
