About This Book
Physics and chemistry are two of the most fundamental sciences, which have had a profound impact on
our understanding of the natural world. They provide us with a framework to explain how matter and
energy behave, and how they interact with each other. The study of physics and chemistry enables us to
understand the principles that govern the universe, from the smallest particles to the largest structures.
This book contains exercises from the previous years' national exams, which have been designed to test
your knowledge and understanding of physics and chemistry. By working through these exercises, you
will gain a deeper understanding of the concepts and principles that underpin these two sciences.
Physics is the study of matter, energy, and their interactions. It covers a broad range of topics, from the
behaviour of subatomic particles to the motion of planets in our solar system. Some of the key areas of
physics include mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics. The study of
physics has led to many ground-breaking discoveries, including the theory of relativity and the
development of the transistor.
Chemistry is the study of the properties, composition, and behaviour of matter. It encompasses a wide
range of topics, from the structure of atoms and molecules to the properties of materials. Some of the key
areas of chemistry include organic chemistry, physical chemistry, and analytical chemistry. The study of
chemistry has led to many significant advances, including the development of new materials and
medicines.
Together, physics and chemistry provide us with a comprehensive understanding of the natural world. By
studying these sciences, we can gain insights into the way the universe works and develop new
technologies that benefit society. This book will help you to develop your knowledge and skills in these
two fascinating subjects and prepare you for the challenges of future study and work in these fields.

Some tips for students
Here are some tips for students to understand physics and chemistry and succeed in solving exercises:
Attend lectures: Attend lectures regularly and take notes. Make sure you understand the concepts
being taught, and don't hesitate to ask questions if you don't.
Read the textbook: Read the textbook before and after lectures to reinforce your understanding of
the subject matter. Don't just read the words but try to understand the concepts and how they
relate to each other.
Practice problems: Practice solving problems regularly. This will help you to understand the
concepts better and prepare you for exams.
Study with a group: Study with a group of classmates to exchange ideas, ask questions, and help
each other. Sometimes, a peer may be able to explain a concept better than a professor.
Utilize online resources: There are plenty of online resources, such as videos, podcasts, and
interactive simulations that can help you understand difficult concepts.
Attend office hours: Take advantage of your professor's office hours to ask questions and get
additional help.
Stay organized: Keep your notes, textbooks, and assignments organized so that you can quickly
and easily find what you need when you're studying.
Stay motivated: Stay motivated and don't get discouraged if you find the material challenging.
Keep working at it, and you will eventually succeed.

The physics & chemistry test
The physics & chemistry test consists of two parts:
Physics: three or four sections (waves and/or nuclear physics, electricity, mechanics).
Chemistry: two exercises or one exercise with two parts.
Managing your time:
To distribute your time effectively, consider that one point in an exercise is approximately 10
minutes.
Writing and explaining your reasoning:
You should write down formulas and calculations with a simple and concise explanation.
Explanations should always be based on knowledge acquired in class.
Every calculation should be preceded by a literal formula corresponding to the quantity requested
in the question.
Avoid unnecessary intermediate calculations that can lead to errors.
Respect significant figures in the result.
Don't forget the units of measurement.
