Obninsk NuclearPowerPlant,startedoperationsinObninsk,intheSovietUnion.
•Theworld'sfirstfullscalepowerstation,CalderHallintheUnitedKingdom,openedonOctober17,1956.
•Theworld'sfirstfullscalepowerstationsolelydevotedtoelectricityproduction—CalderHallwasalso

Dorfman,warnedtheGulfnation'sinvestmentintotheplantasarisk"furtherdestabilizingthevolatile
Gulfregion,damagingtheenvironmentandraisingthepossibilityofnuclearproliferation.
