Geography of
Jordan
Jordan is considered an essential part of the
Arab World.
The Arab World stretches from the Atlantic
Ocean (and Morocco) in the West until the
Arab Gulf in the East and from the Chain
of Taurus (Turkey) mountains in the North
to the African Desert to the Indian Ocean.
Prior to 1921, Jordan was part of Natural
Syria which at the time consisted of Jordan,
Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria. Jordan was
in the southern region of Natural Syria

Saudi Arabia = S
Syria = N
Sea borders with Egypt
Size/ Area of Jordan = ~90 sq km
Coastline (Aqaba Gulf) = ~26
km…this is fairly small for a
coastline and hence makes
commerce via this gulf rather
difficult.

Population of Jordan = 7,300,000 people
(2019).
This number doesn't include non-Jordanians,
Iraqi refugees or Iraqi residents who number
approximately 350,000 people .
also does not include Syrian refugee who
numbered around 1,5 million people (700000
registered as refugees).
More than 60% of the Jordanian population
live in Amman, Zarqa, Salt, and Madaba
