Is it UI more Important than UX?
The discussion around UI vs UX is like comparing the exterior of a car to the engine; both are
important but depend on context and in what way they9re important.
The Good Power of UI Design
A good UI is important because it helps create a favorable first impression, which will be incredibly
important in 20259s digital world. Finding the perfect or trending UI, like neomorphism or glass
morphism, will entice users with superficial visuals. Take for instance a great app with bold colors,
rounded edges, and no clutter; the visuals will prompt users to further investigate the app. That
being said, confusion with the UI can be just as frustrating. No matter how beautiful the UI, if users
can9t figure out navigation, they9re done.
The Good Power of UX Design
UX is a possibility for creating user satisfaction, when users can achieve their goals easily and
without much disruption, especially in the context of booking a service vs playing whack-a-mole
with dashboards, buttons, and links. In 2025, with the variety of new interactions, such as AR/VR
experiences and voice as interfaces, UX designers will have to be thoughtful about seamless
opportunities across different platforms. UX will matter in user experience and when it has poor
quality, for example a UI with a clunky checkout process, users will tend to not return; and studies
show that 88% of users do not return if they had a poor experience.
The Verdict: A Symbiotic Relationship
There is no winner between UI and UX; they have to work together. When a product has excellent UI
yet poor UX, it feels shallow; when it has great UX but poor UI, they might not interact with the
product again. This is something the AUXDP course, which is delivered by a Best Edtech Company,
also emphasizes as UI and UX work symbiotically and design students can craft products that are
functional and aesthetically pleasing.
