Porcelain veneers:
A porcelain veneer is a flat, thin covering that is designed to be fitted perfectly on the tooth.
These veneers are strong and durable for the long term. Their surface is similar to the natural
teeth’ surface to provide you a natural look. The possibility of getting stained is less in
porcelain veneers.
In the process of preparing teeth, usually, the dentist eliminates the little amount of outer
surface from the front and sides of the teeth. That is useful to make enough space for the
veneers to get them adjusted so that they may look natural. Then, the dentist takes an
impression to create a mold of the prepared teeth. You can also discuss the shade with your
dentist to get a perfect smile.
Then he/she will send the impression to a dental laboratory where the professionals will
design the porcelain veneers to fit your teeth. This procedure may take multiple days.
Meanwhile, you will be provided temporary veneers to put on.
At the next appointment, the dentist will check whether the veneers are well fitted or not.
After doing some required adjustments, the dentist will clean the teeth and bond veneers to
the tooth.
Composite resin veneers
Composite resin veneers are prepared with a tooth-colored filling material matching with
your natural tooth’s shade. Professionals apply it in layers to the tooth surface and carved
directly in the mouth to get the desired shape.
