Each employee is equipped with a UWB/BLE Wearable Tag. Tag autonomy is 24 hours and rechargeable. Tags communicate with each

Smartphone.
The Mobile App (iOS & Android) is installed on the employee’s smartphone and collects through crowdsourcing the measurements from the
nearby tags. It sends back data to Ubudu Software on Cloud through Wi-Fi or 4G.
When social distancing is infringed (e.g. less than 1m distance for more than 2 secs) an alert is triggered: the tag vibrates and blinks to

BLE beacons (wireless) are mounted on walls or ceiling and emit BLE signal. They are powered by replaceable battery lasting for 4 years.
Each employee is equipped with a UWB/BLE Wearable Tag. Tag autonomy is 24 hours and rechargeable. Tags receive BLE signal from nearby BLE
beacons and communicate with each other through UWB to measure precise distance between one another. Data is sent back through BLE Long
Range to the BLE Gateway.

For wearable difference in accuracy between UWB & BLE is
even more striking because of body interference
•

In the example, both a UWB and BLE system are
trying to measure a 1-meter distance with a hand
placed in-between. In both situations, this will cause
a measurement error by each system.
In the case of the BLE system, the error comes from
the 14 dB signal attenuation caused by the hand, in
the case of the UWB system, the error will come
from the reduced speed of light when passing
though the hand.
In the case of the BLE system, the error will be
around 500% but in the UWB the measurement
error will only be around 1 centimeter (1%) and
that will be fixed, so even if measuring 10 meters,
the hand would still only cause a 1 centimeter error
