researchteamofbasicandtranslationalresearchscientistsandcliniciansinvestigatinglymphocyte
abnormalitiesincancer.AsanImmunologist/MolecularBiologist,shehasastrongresearchbackground
inmechanismsthatregulategeneexpressioninnormalandabnormalCD4+Tcells.Herstudieshave
investigatedCD4+Tcellsfrompatientswithpre‐malignantandmalignantlymphoiddiseases,patients
infectedwithhumanretroviruses(HIV‐1andHTLV‐1)andmorerecentlypatientswithbreastcancer.
Recently,shehasextrapolatedherlab’sfundamentaldataonTandBcellsinfiltratingbreastcancerinto
aschemeforscoringtheextentandtheleveloforganizationoftheimmuneresponseasanew
parameterforguidingtreatmentdecisionsinpatients.
