APPOINTMENT OF NEW MEMBERS OF THE SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL
1. In accordance with Article VI of the Statute and Resolution GC/50/R19, the term of office of
five members of the Scientific Council, namely Dr I. Frazer (Australia), Dr K. Haustermans
(Belgium), Dr H. Nakagama (Japan), Dr M. Pollán Santamaria (Spain) and Dr A. Markham (UK) will
be completed with the 2012 meeting of the Governing Council.
2. For the information of the Council, this leaves the following seventeen members still serving
on the Scientific Council: Dr F. Demenais (France), Dr R. Gallagher (Canada) and Dr G. Superti-
Furga (Austria) until 2013; Dr A. Anttila (Finland), Dr B. Borisch (Switzerland), Dr M. Melbye
(Denmark), Dr M. Smith (USA) and Dr P. van den Brandt (Netherlands) until 2014; and
Dr P.W. Dickman (Sweden), Dr L. Gianni (Italy), Dr I. Gram (Norway), Dr M. Gültekin (Turkey),
Dr I.-H. Kim (Republic of Korea), Dr D. Murray (Ireland), Dr T. Rajkumar (India), Dr S. Tjulandin
(Russian Federation) and Dr C. Ulrich (Germany) until 2015.
3. In accordance with Article VI.2 of the Agency’s Statute, the Governing Council is requested
to select new members to be appointed to the Scientific Council from the attached list of experts,
one each from Australia, Belgium, Japan, Spain and the UK.
