•What is the « infinitif » form of the verb
and how can you tell when a verb is in that
form?

3Verbe + infinitif
1. In French when the verbs aimer,adorer, and
détester are followed by another verb, the second
verb is in the infinitive form.
Il aime rigoler.
J’adore écouter la radio.
On déteste travailler.
2. In a negative sentence, the ne… pas goes around
the first verb.
Vous n’aimez pas travailler?

one stays in the « Infinitif »
(-ER form).
