Job Interview Training
1. Understand the job
Before the interview, learners should learn to:
- Read the job advertisement carefully.
- Identify the job title, duties, skills and qualifications.
- Research the company.
- Identify what the employer is looking for.
- Match their own skills to the position.
Language focus:
“I am applying for the position of…”
“The job requires…”
“I have experience in…”
2. Prepare your personal introduction
Need a 30–60 second professional introduction organised around:
Present → Past → Skills → Future
Example:
“Good morning. My name is Koffi. I recently graduated in Logistics and Transport. During
my studies, I completed an internship where I gained experience in inventory
management. I am organised, reliable and comfortable working in a team. I am now
looking for an opportunity to develop my skills in a professional environment.”
Key question:
👉“Tell me about yourself.”
3. Prepare for common interview questions
Organise questions into categories rather than asking learners to memorise answers.
Category Typical question
Personal Tell me about yourself.
Education What did you study?
Experience Tell me about your previous experience.
Skills What are your strengths?
Weaknesses What is one area you need to improve?
Motivation Why do you want this job?
