At Saint Luc, we are proud to combine the experse of praconers from various speciales and

the best outcomes for our paents.
Providing quality care is one of our missions, and the pursuit of quality and excellence is one of our
ve core instuonal values.
Our vision of Quality is based on three pillars:
Quality of Our Services: We are commied to providing high-quality care to all our paents. To
achieve this, we have established a quality standards framework designed by Saint Luc's experts: the
Instuonal Quality Model. These standards meet naonal and internaonal benchmarks. We have
also tailored these standards to account for our specic processes and procedures. Our quality
framework is regularly updated and improved based on feedback from our paents and sta, as well
as risk management.
Paent Experience: We place the paent at the heart of our approach and promote close
collaboraon between the paent and the healthcare professional. Together, they share their
knowledge, experse, and experiences with the illness. This collaboraon allows for personalized
treatment according to the paent’s life goals and enhances their experience within our instuon.
We make the paent a partner in daily interacons;
We measure paent sasfacon through sasfacon surveys, whether in hospitalizaon or
ambulatory;
We also rely on our "Paent Partner Commiee," a group of paents who acvely parcipate in
instuonal projects and iniaves within various departments.
Excellence in Care: We are commied to providing excellent care. For this, we use performance
indicators, which are tools to connuously measure and monitor the quality of care. We also consider
paent-reported outcomes (PROMs). These indicators help us idenfy areas for improvement.
PROMs show us the impact of our care on paents' daily lives, which helps us adjust our pracces to
beer meet their needs. Through this rigorous, paent-centered approach, we strive to always oer
the best.
At the heart of our mission at Saint-Luc is the goal of delivering excellent care and results. We provide
safe, person-centered, eecve and appropriate, ecient, integrated, accessible, and equitable care.
We also address our culture of connuous improvement, leadership, and the way we are organized.
Our Instuonal Quality Model, based on the standards of Accreditaon Canada Internaonal, is
specically tailored to our hospital, facilitang sta engagement. The best pracces reect the actual
work of our team using their usual tools and vocabulary. We have idened about forty important
themes, such as medicaon safety, paent idencaon, and informed consent, among others. For
each theme, around ten best pracces have been dened. Our sta is trained upon arrival, and
regular checks ensure the applicaon of these pracces while idenfying areas for improvement.
In addion to the framework, we have established a structure to audit and analyze adverse events
and revise procedures if necessary. We also idenfy risks to prevent incidents by implemenng
appropriate safety measures, improving exisng procedures, and ensuring a safe care environment
for both paents and sta.
The coordinaon of various iniaves complements our quality model, ensuring high-quality care and
connuous improvement of our pracces.
We use performance indicators to connuously measure and monitor the quality of care. These
indicators, such as readmission and mortality rates, evaluate the hospital's performance and are also
reported to the Federal Public Service Health.
We also use specic indicators for certain condions, based on care pathways, to opmize each step
of the treatment. Our instuon has about 200 care pathways for this purpose. With this
informaon, we connuously improve our care pathways to beer meet paent needs.
Through our paent portal "mon.saintluc.be," your doctor can send you quesonnaires to measure
the impact of treatment on your quality of life (PROM) and adjust it as needed to ensure maximum
eecveness.
