LESSON : LINKING WORDS
1. ADDITION
- In addition to that or additionally
Charity begins home(la charité commence par soit même)
E.g: i'm gonna eat beans this morning in addition to that, i will drink and take rest.
- Besides or moreover(en outre)
E.g: Politically, moreover, he faces a split in his party
- Furthermore ( Also, too, as well)
E.g: She always arrives on time. Her work, furthermore, has always been excellent.
2. CONTRAST (Contrary) deux idée contraire
- In Contrary
- unfortunately (malheureusement)
E.g: We tried to get tickets, but unfortunately they were already sold out.
- nevertheless or unless( néanmoins)
E.g: The math test was very difficult; nevertheless, she earned a good grade.
- On the other hand (d'autres part) On the one hand( d'une part)
E.g: I'm a teacher, on the other hand i'm electrician.
- Despite that
E.g: We must move Despite that it's raining.
3. CONCLUSION : to put everything together.
(In fact, actually =en effet; obviously= évidemment)
- at the and of the day(en conclusion)
- as a conclusion( comme conclusion)
- to sum up( en résumé)
- to wrap up( terminer)
- ultimately(finally)

LESSON: EVER AND NEVER
Ever(un jour): is used in negative sentences to express a doubt or to Ask for a question
It is opposite of Always.
E.g: don't ever call me again = never call me again
Don't ever talk to me like that.
Have you ever heard about CPN public defense (positive statement)
Haven't you ever heard about CPN public defense (negative statement)
Never(jamais): never and ever share similar meanings but are used differently.
Never: means at no time and is a negative term.
Example with idioms :
Have you ever gone belly up.
NO MORE AND ANYMORE(plus comme jamais )
No more and anymore as determiners
We use them like determiners talking about something that once exist.
E.g: i will Ask no more for a question
I won't Ask any more for a question
I won't give the credit when the credit is due anymore.
No more and anymore as adverbs
we use them as adverbs talking about something stopping or ending.
E.g: god has Heard my prayers
- i won't cry any more
- i wouldn't worry anymore if i were you everything will be pretty easly.
No more... Than, anymore.....than
We use no more than and anymore than
As adverbs to talk about comparative of quantities of degrees
E.g: it does not tell you much
There is no more details than in the instructions.
Flying in Goma isn't anymore expensive than getting the car.
