ThistutorialdemonstrateschangingtheTRNSYSRestaurantExamplefromenergyratecontrolto
temperaturelevelcontrol.Therearefourimportantstepstoimplementtemperaturelevelcontrol:
turningofftheinternalheatingandcoolinginType56,definingtheinputs,definingtheoutputs,and
connectingthepropermechanicalcomponentsintheSimulationStudio.Thistutorialwillguide
througheachofthesteps.
OpentheRestaurant.tpfexampleprojectintheSimulationStudiofromtheTRNSYSExamples
directory.RightclickontheType56componentandclick‘EditBuilding’.Atthispointitis
recommendedthattheprojectandbuildingaresavedasdifferentnames(File

Saveas).Inthe
TRNBuildManagerwindow,openthezone,DINING.OpentheHeatingbutton,andclicktheoff
buttonasshowninFigure1.ThisactionremovestheTRNBUILDinternalheatingsettingforthezone.
Theinternalcoolingforthezoneisalreadyoff,buttheinternalcoolingandheatingfortheotherzone,
KITCHEN,needstobeturnedoff.

TemperatureofAirFlowandtheRelativeHumidityofAirFlowalsoneedtobedefinedasinputs.Using
thepreviousprocesstodefineinputs,createanewinputfortheinlettemperatureandrelative
humiditytothekitchenzonecalledT_IN_KITCHandRH_IN_KITCH,respectively.TheVentilationType
ManagerforthekitchenzoneshouldlooklikethatinFigure9.

Thesamesetofinputsneedstobedefinedforthediningroomzone.Tocreateanewventilation
type,simplyclickontheNinthegreenboxofthelowerrighthandoftheVentilationTypeManager
window(Figure10).Addinganewventilationtypemayalsobedonebyclickingonthezonenamein
theTRNBuildManager,clickingontheVentilationiconbuttonintheRegimeData,andthenaddinga
newventilationtype.
