AIR MAURITIUS: The company unveiled an ambitious strategy to double
its fleet by 2030, enhance its market presence, and improve customer
experience during a ceremony introducing 53 new cabin crew members
and nine technical staff. This plan includes acquiring new Airbus A350s,
expanding routes to major cities, and significant recruitment efforts to

INFLATION UPDATE: Inflation in Mauritius fell to 2.2% in June 2024,
down from 2.9% in May and 7.9% in June 2023. The 12-month headline
inflation rate also decreased to 4.5% from 10.5% the previous year.
While food prices dropped by -0.8%, prices for alcoholic beverages,
cigarettes, and household items saw slight increases, according to the

UNIONS -FCSOU- is urging the PAY RESEARCH BUREAU -PRB- to address
salary disparities in the public sector by implementing a corrected
Master Salary Scale. Due to delays and lack of communication from the
PRB, the FCSOU has independently proposed adjustments to ensure fair
