General languages requirements for admission

All candidates must prove proficiency in the teaching languages of the chosen programme at the University of Luxembourg. The language skills required for
each programme are listed in the dedicated programme web page according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Language levels
should be documented by candidates in one or more of the following ways:

For Bachelor:

For students with a secondary school diploma obtained in Luxembourg less than 5 years ago:
▪
Secondary/high school certificate from a school at which the main teaching language was the same as the one that is used in the chosen study programme at
the University of Luxembourg
▪
Official high school transcript record (2 last years of secondary school) to justify the proficiency in the teaching language(s) of the chosen study programme at the
University of Luxembourg
▪
Internationally recognised test certificate (no more that 1 year old) to justify the proficiency in the teaching language(s) of the chosen study programme at the
University of Luxembourg
For students with a secondary school diplomas obtained outside Luxembourg or obtained in Luxembourg more than 5 years ago:
▪
Secondary/high school certificate from a school at which the main teaching language was the same as the one that is used in the chosen study programme at
the University of Luxembourg
▪
Internationally recognised test certificate (no more than 1 year old) to justify the proficiency in the teaching language(s) of the chosen study programme at the
University of Luxembourg
For Master:
▪
University degree (Bachelor or Master level) certifying the completion of a programme in which the teaching language was the one that is used in the chosen
programme at the University of Luxembourg
▪
Internationally recognised test certificate (no more than 1 year old) to justify the proficiency in the teaching language(s) of the chosen study programme at the
University of Luxembourg
▪
Certificate from employer whose language of work corresponds to the teaching language(s) of the study programme chosen at the University of Luxembourg.
▪
Note on the internationally recognized test certificates: If the test takes place after the submission deadline of the admission file, the candidate may be “admitted under
conditions” to the selected programme(s) until s/he is able to provide the official test results. Candidates must submit their certificates before the deadline established by each
programme. For some programmes, this rule does not apply and language levels should be documented when submitting the application file, not after the submission
deadline.
