5. You may experience bleeding, pain, or swelling. So don’t worry about it.
6. Contact your dentist if you have dry mouths or if you have any of these symptoms
after the first 24 hours: bleeding, numbness in your lips or mouth or nausea.
7. Use an ice pack to relieve pain and decrease swelling.

13. after 24 hours, return to your regular brushing and flossing. If it is uncomfortable
or painful, brush gently. Be sure to be gentle at the particular extraction site. But it is
important to keep the mouth clean and healthy to promote rapid healing.
14. Avoid exercising and other vigorous physical activities for the week following
surgery.
15. Use heat packs 24-48 hours after surgery to relieve pain.
16. Omit foods that require chewing. Instead, eat foods such as: apple sauce, soup
broth, ice cream, mashed potatoes, oatmeal, milk, smoothies, yogurt, cottage cheese or
Jell-o.
