In the negative, you put ne…pas around the
verbs pouvoir and vouloir (sandwich the verbs)
Ex) Je ne veux pas manger de frites.
Ex) Ils ne peuvent pas aller au restaurant ce
soir.

“Je voudrais” is a polite form of “Je veux”
Ex) Je voudrais une livre de fraises, s’il vous
plaît.
