 Place et ordre des adjectifs épithètes
 Rappel : en anglais, l’adjectif épithète se place toujours ……………………………le nom qu’il qualifie.
 Quand on a plusieurs adjectifs qui qualifient le même nom, on peut retenir deux règles pratiques pour
savoir dans quel ordre il faut les placer :
Ex1 : Hulk is a huge middle-aged green American creature.
Ex2: He has got a beautiful blue and red cotton Spiderman costume .

Règle 1 : « TAXCOM » . Observe les exemples 1 et 2 et trouve la signification des initiales !

 On peut former des adjectifs composés en anglais – Observe the following sentences and fill in
the grid.
Ex1 : Wonder woman is a blue-eyed girl with an oval- shaped face.
Ex2: Captain America wears a red and dark- blue costume.
Ex3: The X men were assembled by wheelchair-bound mutant Professor Charles Xavier.
Ex4: This is a heart-breaking story.
Ex5: Spiderman is a well-known superhero. He’s got a brick-red costume.
Ex6: Superman comes from Krypton, an ice-cold planet. He is a hard-working reporter.
Les adjectifs composés AVEC VERBE :
Le verbe peut être en –ING = sens actif
Le verbe peut être en –ED (symbole du participe passé) = sens passif

REMEMBER !
- Dans un mot composé, c’est le deuxième élément qui compte ! Le premier élément apporte une précision.
- Un adjectif composé se comporte comme n’importe quel adjectif qualificatif anglais : Il est invariable donc
ne se met jamais au pluriel et se place avant le nom lorsqu’il est épithète.
